FINE ARTS

 Art is part of the curriculum for kindergarten through grade five.  It is an elective in grades six through eight.        

Vocal music is part of the curriculum for kindergarten through grade six.   Choir is required in grades three through five and is an elective in grades six through eight.  Instrumental music is optional for grades four through eight.  In-school lessons are included for these students.  Choir and band students perform in three evening programs during the school year.  The middle school band and choir also compete in few outside competitions through out the year.

 Students in grades one through eight may participate in the annual school Fine Arts Festival in a variety of different areas.  In-class speeches are required in grades three through eight as part of the language arts curriculum.  The best presentations in each speech area are entered into Fine Arts.  Creative writing is done by all students in grades one through eight with the best pieces entered for Fine Arts judging.
