Spanish

At GCS, a biblically integrated Spanish course is offered in grades K-8.  K-5 classes take Spanish class once a week, as they are introduced to the basics of a foreign language.  Vocabulary and grammar are largely taught using games, songs, and visuals.    In middle school, Spanish becomes more of a core subject, as 6th grade students have Spanish 3 times a week, and 7th and 8th grades have Spanish every day.  Vocabulary and grammar are reinforced, as students are expected to use Spanish more regularly in conversation.   Students also learn about the geography, culture, and food of Spanish speaking countries around the world.  Upon completion of the 8th grade, GCS students graduate with a Spanish 1 credit recognized by local high schools.
